Product Review: Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Blemish Cover Stick Concealer

Recently, at my local Duane Reade, I discovered a 50% off sale on the Boots No. 7 line (an import and blogger favorite from England) so I had decided to try out the Stay Perfect Blemish Cover Stick. This product is a spot or stick concealer which reminds me a lot of the Chanel Estompe Eclat Concealer (this is a huge throwback for me, it's the first concealer I ever used and I loved it to bits) in consistency, but it slightly less smooth/creamy.

The packaging is sleek, it's a nice product for on-the-go cover-ups, and I even like it for under my eyes as it is thick enough that it does a good job of camouflaging the blue undertones when I have bags. It's a twist-up design which I think is far more hygenic than the MAC Studio Finish SPF35 Concealer. I chose the shade "Medium" because I thought the colors ran very fair in the range, which may be a problem if you're deeper skinned and want to look into this product.

In swatches of the Boots No. 7 Stay Perfect Blemish Cover Stick, it goes on fully opaque in one swipe and even when blended out, you can see how the consistency remains thick and it is full coverage. The medium has yellow to neutral undertones. I do find that the wear time is good, and there is little to no creasing, but I do make a point of setting all of my under-eye concealers with Tarte's Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder - this is just a habit I picked up years ago and you can use any translucent powder.

Overall, if you're in the market for a full-coverage spot concealer, definitely check this one out, it's not too oily that it will run down your face and will definitely stay in place all day. If you're having a hard time spreading thicker concealers, remember to warm them up with the tip of your finger and gently pat them onto your skin.

Aerosoles Boots purchase!

I'm so excited about this most recent buy that I got with my birthday money and the other pair that my mom bought for me as a gift for the holidays, that I absolutely must share with you.

Aerosoles is having a 20% off boots which are already on sale, so I took advantage of these real suede studded boots. They're flat, with a little bit of an arch for support. The model is called Sota Fountain and it fits my abnormally large calves. I usually have such problems finding boots, especially suede and leather boots, because of how large my calf muscle is and they are always too tight or will not pull up past a certain point. These boots absolutely delighted me and the pattern is so chic and fashionable that I'm sure that I'll wear them for years to come. They are sturdy and feel like they're made of thick suede, so you probably don't have to worry too much about wear and tear. These are perfect for Seattle's terrain, where I need a flat shoe but with arch support and comfort so that I can walk up and down the many hilly streets.

The regular price for these was $200, which is absolutely way more than I will ever pay for a pair of shoes, any kind of shoes. However, I was delighted to find out how big the sale was that they were offering! The yellow pair was retailing for $69.99 but with 20% off, they only came to $55.99. The black pair wasn't on such a large sale because it was $99.99 and with the 20% off it came to $79.99, apparently this color happens to be a lot more popular than the yellow so it doesn't go on sale with as big of a discount. So if you're interested in purchasing a pair, don't waste time! They come in olive and brown as well, with the olive color being on huge discount just like the yellow pair (as they consider it a less desirable color) and I am considering purchasing them too!!! Hurry if you want a pair, the sale will probably end soon or they 'll be out of stock.

You can find them online here.

Shoes are a Girl's Best Friend

... Or worst enemy.

You all know the feeling of achy feet, knowing that you're going to have blisters on your soles the second you take off that beautiful, yet completely impractical, pair of shoes. I've been on the hunt for the perfect mix of aesthetics and functionality, and I finally think I've found it! Originally, I was looking at a lot of 'designer' and 'fancy shoes' companies to make comfortable yet pretty booties, but I remembered back to the pair I could walk miles in: the Nike half-shoe, half-boot slouchy combination!

Rather than get another pair, I opted for a more fashionable option, so I took a chance on the J-41 Mediterranean booties. The fabulous news is that I've walked a few miles in these already since I got them yesterday and it feels as though my feet are walking on pillows! They're highly padded inside.

I was astounded to see how cute these were, realizing that this company usually makes hiking shoes and assorted athletic footwear. I bought them in black from www.6pm.com, however, they ran a size too large (I was lucky I read online beforehand and got myself a 7.5 rather than my usual 6.5). Unfortunately, they can no longer be found there, I got them at a great deal for $60.00 with shipping inclusive but they were immediately sold out (you can try Sears).  They're also waterproof, which is great for those of us who live in cities that have daily drizzles, but refuse to wear those cliche rainboots.
